Description

Chestnut seedling. Medium size – 8-12″. Chinese chestnut (Castanea mollissima). Locally grown in NE KS from locally foraged and untreated chestnuts.
The nuts drop early to mid season.

I love foraging chestnuts in the Fall. I roast some, plant some as seed. You can also dry them and grind them into flour. They are known as the “bread tree”.
Equivalent to a 2 gallon pot size tree (which is a standard pricing for nurseries).

Unless you pick them up local, they will be shipped to you Bare root (too big to ship in a pot).

Note: You need at least two chestnut trees to ensure that they will produce nuts.
