Empire Elite Chestnut tree seedling. 12-18″.
Empire Elite is one of the most popular tree planted when turning a corn/soy field into a chestnut farm.
Grown from seed I got from Route 9 Co-op.

Produces large to extra large nuts. The chestnuts drop later (in Kansas they drop in early October).

For Fall orders, will ship in late September (Oct for Southern states).
Fall tree orders are containerized trees (in pots). They are priced according to the pot size. 2 gallon equivalent pot size.
They are removed from the pots just prior to shipping. Can also be ordered for local pickup.

Spring orders will ship bare root during dormancy.
Note: You need at least two chestnut trees to ensure that they will cross pollinate and produce nuts.
Unless you pick them up local, they will shipped Bare root (too big to ship in a pot).
