Hazelnut seedling – grown from seed this past spring. 6-10″. Jefferson and Yamhill varieties. Locally grown in NE KS.

I love hazelnuts. I use them in my food forest as a shrub in an apple guild, to fill spaces in a line of trees in mound along a swale, and a a hedge along the fence.

Note: You need at least two hazelnut trees to ensure that they will produce nuts. You need to plant them fairly close together to get the best pollination.
