Sent in Bare root (not in a pot). Order now – you can have them ship now, or ship in Nov-Dec (after they go dormant), or we can hold them ’til Spring (your choice). If you would rather have them reserved for you and shipped in the Spring, put that in the Order notes at checkout.

Growing pecans from seed was a new experiment for me this year.

Note: You need at least two pecan trees to ensure that they will produce nuts. They get really large, so you will need to plant them far enough apart. The recommendation from Google is to plant them at least 20 or more feet apart so they have adequate space to grow. Kansas Forest Service at Kansas State University recommends planting pecans 15 feet apart for an orchard, or 8 feet apart and then thin them to the most successful trees. They may take a few years of root growth before they increase in height.
