Description

Pecan seedling – Medium size 6 – 10″. (Carya illinoensis).
Smallish to Medium sized nuts. Conservation quality.

For Fall orders, will ship in late September (Oct for Southern states).
Fall tree orders are containerized trees (in pots). They are priced according to the pot size. 1 gallon equivalent pot size.
They are removed from the pots just prior to shipping. Can also be ordered for local pickup.

Spring orders will ship bare root during dormancy.

Note: You need at least two pecan trees to ensure that they will produce nuts.
Spacing: The trees get really large, so you will need to plant them far enough apart. Kansas Forest Service at Kansas State University recommends planting pecans 15 feet apart for an orchard, or 8 feet apart and then thin them to the most successful trees. They are slow growing and may take a few years of root growth before they increase in height.
