Description

Hybrid Chestnut tree seedling. Medium size – 8-12″.
Hybrid of Chinese chestnut (Castanea mollissima) and American chestnut (Castanea dentata).
Similar to Dunstan (but note that Dunstan is a trademark of Chestnut Hill Nursery).
These hybrids have late bud break, which can beat late frosts.
The nuts drop mid to late season (in Kansas that is late September and October).

These seedlings were grown be me in NE KS with seeds from Nebraska, and are adapted to the Midwest.

Unless you pick them up local, they will be shipped to you Bare root (too big to ship in a pot).

Note: You need at least two chestnut trees to ensure that they will cross pollinate and produce nuts. You can mix these with Chinese chestnuts in an orchard.
