Chestnut seedling – 12-18″. Chinese chestnut (Castanea mollissima), a Farm Family Mix pollinated by Qing and other unnamed Chinese chestnuts.
May also have had some Peach and Dunstan-like cross pollination.
These seedlings were grown in NE Kansas from the larger chestnuts gathered from Charlie’s Chestnuts in Lawrence, KS.
Heavy producer of medium size nuts (when mature). The nuts drop early to mid season.
Starts to bear nuts at 4-5 years.
Late Fall and Spring orders will ship bare root during dormancy.
Early Fall tree orders are containerized trees (in pots). They are priced according to the pot size. 2 gallon equivalent pot size.
They are removed from the pots just prior to shipping. Can also be ordered for local pickup.
Spring orders will ship bare root during dormancy.
Unless you pick them up local, they will shipped Bare root (too big to ship in a pot).
Bears medium nuts. Drops earlier than some other hybrids (in Kansas they drop in mid=September)
